In this exhibition, the artist investigates the forces that animate the world through a double operation: inversion and emptying. At the vertex of identity understood as multiple, the artist seeks to explore the limits of what can be stated. Huffmann’s assemblages propose structure without content, meaning as latency. At the margins of the human, at the margins of nature, lies appropriation. On the reverse side, at the boundary between the urban and the rural, fiction becomes matter and takes shape in the artist’s works as a material for constructing representations of the world.
Do subjects have the power to overflow structure? What possibility do we have to expand the field of what is thinkable and to construct new channels of reception? Hopefully, we will never learn how to delimit a subject. Let the artist’s task be to question the arbitrariness present in every image of the world.
