FRANCISCA REY

Francisca Rey was born in 2000 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She attended the Universidad Nacional de las Artes (UNA) and the Regina Espacio de Arte (REA). In 2019 and 2021, she participated in analysis and production workshops directed by Valeria Rovatti. In 2021 she made Manglar at the Acéfala Gallery. Since 2022 she has been attending painting and analysis classes taught by Héctor Maranesi. In the same year she was selected in the anniversary edition of Curriculum Zero of the Ruth Benzacar Art Gallery. She uses her own experiences to create an imaginary of symbols and codes that explore memories, dreams, traumas, the tension between light and shadow, the body and death; she works by instinct, to satisfy the constant need to do, to face the uncertainty and anxiety caused by becoming.
She develops her practice with different materials and tools: painting, objects, photography, video, drawing, textiles and jewelry.
