July 11 — October 12, 2026
Until October 12, Marina De Caro is participating in the international residency program at the European Ceramic Work Centre (EKWC), a center dedicated to research and artistic and technical development in ceramics, located in Oisterwijk, the Netherlands.
As part of this residency, the artist continues developing Conjuring the Horizon (Taming Cruelty), a project she began in 2024 at MAC VAL in France, which will be completed once its pieces have been distributed across different locations around the world.
Through the slow and transformative process of ceramics, De Caro will carry out a new stage of the project: a drawing that was part of Conjuring the Horizon will be burned, and its ashes will be used to create the glazes for 11 pieces. Each piece will subsequently be distributed in different places around the world, with the aim of keeping the spell against cruelty alive.
Each year, EKWC welcomes professionals from different disciplines from around the world, offering a space to deepen their practices, develop new research, and foster the exchange of knowledge around contemporary ceramics.
